the problem with your inner narrative

Have you noticed that your mind wanders even when you don’t want?

Did you see it when your intention was to be good but in the end you judged one of your dearest friends?

Whenever I think about what spontaneous thoughts come to mind I realize that I’m more envious and proud (in the darkest sense, like the Christian sin) than I would like to be.

My autonomous thoughts are still to be refined and I have to step down from them. The problem with this inner narrative is that it goes on and on by default.

So how do we beat it? We can’t play the same game because we can’t control our mind so much. What we can do is to create a second narrative, a way of living, that permeates and influences the first one. We should become the leading example to follow, the person we’d like to meet ad admire.
