Come on, give me the chills

Thoughts about changing, life, and whatever comes to mind.

  • be present

Being present is one of the most difficult yet natural thing we should learn to do. It’s not about skills, it’s about presence, it’s about living and perceiving the whole world, it’s about not opening another tab in the browser or avoiding checking the phone.

Truth is: All of this is not that important.
Checking Facebook, Reddit, opening a tab to see the latest news.

    It’s not your life.

Your life is made by the moments you live, the memories you build.
Work might be part of it, but it’s nonetheless a small surplus.

And in all this you always have to decide what to follow, what type of person you want to be, which are the things you should pursue.
Be true to yourself, be honest with what you love, act on your preachings.

  • change requires critics and introspection

There’s a truth in this world: We don’t change.
The whole truth is that, to change, it’s not enough to want it, it’s not enough to be aware of it, it’s not enough to have people showing the facts.

Changing requires doubt, self-criticism, and introspection.

No change has ever happened without this, no change has ever stayed without this.
We need doubt and self-criticism to understand that we don’t know nor own the solution

We are not the solution, we are the problem.
And it requires introspection to understand the consequences of this truth, to fill the gaps.
    To leap.

  • how to be remembered

There are many ways to stick in people minds, but the one I love the most is being yourself.

It’s not that important to make an impression to everyone but only to the people that really count

  • do you need a thanks?

We love being thanked for our work, and there’s a good reason for that. Thanking someone for their work make this acknowledgeable.

We need this because this way we know that our work has been seen, but is that truly needed? if you think about it many people in this world don’t show off what they do, they are invisible and yet they continue their daily struggle to improve our lives,

Maybe it’s not that important. Maybe we can do the best of our work without asking for a thank you, although it is surely appreciated.

Maybe that part that wants this is that hidden part of us that lies in a grey area and wants to be acknowledged forever and leave a trace.
And even though the words “leave a trace” seems so beautiful, it’s ego I’m talking about.

  • when they surprise you

I was lost, some of my clients had new competitors that wanted selling my products near them and I didn’t knew how to act.

Many companies in the cosmetic business decide that it’s ok to sell if the distance between the shops is more than 1km, which isn’t so much.

I was torn between selling or not selling, and I reminded myself that we should act in spite of fear. And so I did what I thought was my best bet: Writing to them. Telling them the whole story.

And they surprised me, with a love and passion I couldn’t foresee.

I feared disaster, but humanity can be much more better than that.
