  • june 2017 monthly checkup

This june was a total renaissance for me and the writing, and what made it possible was also a bluetooth keyboard that allowed me to write from my phone when I’m in bed.

This allow me to write as the last thing of the day and it’s a quite pleasant thing to do without an entire pc. 🙂

Overall a quite happy month. Loving the fact that I’m starting to get again on track for writing and it’s marked quite a few good working moments in my career.

These are the posts I loved writing

Less than I expected, looking back I still didn’t write that much in this month, but I eagerly wait for this to improve 🙂

  • Share your point of view

Let’s say you have a problem and you need to solve them.

You might ask for help, and that would be a good idea in case you can’t solve it by yourself.

But one thing you should keep in mind: always share your overall issue, don’t only share the problem. So for example in case you’re running late for an important meeting don’t simply ask your driver to go faster, they can’t relate to your need unless they are living in a fast and furious movie.

Tell them your struggle, why it’s important, how that simple action would help you so much, how it’ll affect your life.

Share that the meeting is important because if it goes well it might help you change your career path and work more closely to home, helping you to stay with your children.

People are willing to help in exchange for a story, for a glimpse of your life, and the reason behind this is that all we want in life is a little bit of empathy.

In a world full of social media that depicts humanity being able to get really in touch with a human is something both rare and special. Anyone who’s not a jackass will know that and try to help you in the way they can.

    Share that little story today.

  • here and now

So many people talking about being present while not being present, making the whole topic sounds ridiculous….

  • body changes

Let’s say you meet someone, you fall in love with them or you start having a high respect for them.

Then you discover they went under plastic surgery.
    They changed their body.

Now, it seems perfectly fine nowadays to accept that people do plastic surgery, right? It’s normal.
We started shifting the way we think from “we are part of this world” to “we control the world”, or at least this became part of our expectation.

We somewhat expect the world to change based upon our will, instead of us changing based upon the world.

And you know what was the main skill that made humanity so powerful?
    Adaptability.

PS: Bottom line question: if they weren’t able to accept themselves and felt the need to change their body, how can they accept you?

  • the  work you don’t do

There is some kind of hidden work. A kind of work you can’t define yet you do.

    The non work.

It’s a strange work and it happens when you don’t do what you think you were supposed to do, like in my case developing software, and instead you do something else, like managing people, helping other.

It does feel like you’re skipping work and to some extend that is true, but it’s not the whole story.

I believe the thing here is that what we truly miss is the ability to do what we thought was our work.

Accepting is a hard part of this topic because it all starts with not accepting the new kind of work we’re entitled to.
