Come on, give me the chills

Thoughts about changing, life, and whatever comes to mind.

  • breathing and meditation

I just woke up and, as usual, I did a small 15 minutes meditation.

It’s like “nothing” compared to a deep profound meditation, but still has its effects.

It’s wonderful how just breathing helped me wake up totally.
I was sleepy because I didn’t slept that much (came home very late), and yet now I’m full of energy.

This is one of the many wonders of meditation.
It gives you energy, control, profoundness, and you get it only when you can concentrate without tension.

  • don’t take it personal

    It will happen one day.

    Someone will shut at you.
Harsh words, maybe, and you will be left to wonder what to do.
Should you react? Should you stay silent?

Today it happened to me, and I kept calm.
It was hard because you feel the urge to reply, to say something, to change the situation.

    But it’s not that easy.
If you did your work it may also happen that people are not shouting at you, but at a more broader situation they’re living.
    A problem you’re part of.

You’re not the problem itself, but you take part in it, maybe not even actively, but you’re there and that is enough.

That pain gives voice to hatred, to rage.
That’s why you shouldn’t take it personally.
    Because sometimes it’s not personal.

  • tracking is like writing a journal

Almost one year ago I started doing Calisthenics with the Convic Conditionig program.

It was the first program I could easly follow without video, only a simple book with easy progressions.
With this program I also started tracking my progress, not because I wanted to show off, but to remember what I’ve done and what I should do next.

It was quite a pragmatic choice.

I know I already talked about this, but looking back at the journal I can see the path I’ve been working on to.
It’s not about the physic I have right now, but instead it is the journey I did to get till now.
All the progressions, all the days I worked out.

At first many exercises were hard to to, while now I’m getting closer and closer to a decent-minimum.

Would have been the same if I didn’t track? I don’t know.
What I know is that the more you can simplify the workout to something easy to manage and follow, the better the chance that I’ll be able to workout without skipping the day.

Tracking it has improved the way I handle these workouts and they are now part of my routine.

  • use natural remedies but don’t be stupid

I love natural remedies, they often shows that we can heal in a good way without the need to use chemicals.

For example a broth of ginger and orange is great if you have flu or common cold.

But you shouldn’t be too much focused on them. They are great, but they are not the solution for every problem out there.

So, yes, seek them first, but in case don’t be afraid to use chemicals.
I wrote this because today I got a migraine with aura.

This type of migraine is very powerful, it starts in your eyes with the “aura”.
The aura appears in some defect in the vision that’s similar to seeing “stars”, but right in front of you. This symptom doesn’t have any kind of headache yet, but it’s like a precursor.

Then, after a hour or two, you get one powerful headache like you’ve never experienced.

Since I already got a couple of them in my last years, today, even though I was running 4 years without taking a single chemical medicine, I decided to take 2 aspirins right after the aura.

It is usually the best time to cure it because once the headache comes in it will be a trouble.
Aspirins was the most “natural” medicine I got nearby.

To threat the headache better, I stayed in a dark room laying in the bed, for 45 minutes, doing breathing exercised, focusing on the head.

Then, once woke up, drank some lemon juice with hot water, and inhaled some lavender essential oil I put in a hot water cup.

Now the headache is almost gone, dunno how this will work over the day, but if it works, then I’ve got my solution 🙂

  • there is no wrong choice

Aren’t we all chased by the ghost of the “right choice”?
When we have to make up a decision, what’s the good thing and what’s the wrong thing?

There might be a “best outcome”, but any choice you made and follow won’t be wrong unless you’re trying to be stupid.

Any choice will lead to an outcome. So the question should be:
Can you handle the outcome? If yes, there’s no wrong choice, just the one you choose.
